KASHISH – Mumbai International Queer Film Festival, April 22nd to April 25th, 2010 promises four days of queer celebration across many platforms of artistic expressions.
The largest queer film festival for the very first time in India presents 110 films across from 25 countries. It brings together the filmmakers, writers, intellectuals, academicians, activists, stars and celebrities with both queer and mainstream audience in an interactive celebration of the queer experience.
All the films screened highlight gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender characters and stories, exploring the diverse realities, complexities, joys and sorrows that make up their experiences in India and across the world.
The two venues where the screenings will be held represents the ambitious reach of the festival in reaching out to a pan Mumbai audience – Alliance Française in South Mumbai and PVR Cinemas in Juhu, North Mumbai. This is the first time a queer film festival is being held in a multiplex theater.
