KASHISH FORWARD AT WILSON COLLEGE
KASHISH Forward film screening organized by KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival and Queer Ink with Wilson College, Mumbai on January 17, 2015, was an amazing experience. Around 150+ students from Wilson College and Sophia Polytechnic attended the screening.
The students, staff members and some members of the LGBT community who attended enjoyed the 10 films presented that provided a fun & intense worldview of LGBT lives. There were loud cheers, claps, laughter and lots of questions after the screening.
KASHISH Forward – India’s first travelling campus queer film festival – is a series of screenings of LGBTQ films that travels to campuses across India, aiming to reach out and create awareness about issues of the LGBTQ community, both to students and faculty members, so that a discussion around LGBTQ issues and equal rights can be kick-started.
Last year KASHISH Forward was held at IIT Bombay in collaboration with Saathi – IIT Bombay, and was hugely successful with more than 350+ audience (students, faculty, college staff) turnout.
