AWARDS AND JURY
The following films received awards at KASHISH MIQFF2010.
The jury were extremely kind to pool in Rs.85,000 to award cash prizes for the main winners of the four categories as well as special jury awards for a few other deserving films.

Jury Citation: An over-the-edge view of a real situation, that makes its point with sensitivity

Jury Citation: A humorous look at the agonies of coming out in a traditional family

Best Indian Short – LOST & FOUND by Shrenik Jain
Jury Citation: For sensitively capturing in a few minutes an entire gamut, and the vulnerability, of cruising.

JURY
KASHISH is privileged and honoured by the participation of an eminent Jury Panel consisting of:
Suhasini Mulay
Suhasini Mulay has produced over 60 films and videos in the past 30 years. She has won National Awards in India for 4 of her films including An Indian Story, Bhopal: Beyond Genocide, Chitthi and The Official Art Form. Her films have been shown in various national and international festivals and on foreign television channels like Channel 4, Rai Television and others. She has also acted in films and television serials, significant are Bhuvan Shome directed by Mrinal Sen, Lagaan by Ashutosh Guwairkar, Dil Chahta Hai by Farhan Akhtar, Humraaz by Abbas Mastaan and Hu Tu Tu by Gulzar. She bagged the National Award for the Best Supporting Actress in 1999.
Rajit Kapoor
Rajit Kapur is an award winning theatre and film actor. He is particularly known for his award-winning portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi in the 1996 film, The Making of the Mahatma. Other renowned films he has worked in are Ghulam, Bose: The Forgotten Hero and Suraj Ka Satwa Ghora. One of his most popular stints is his portrayal of Byomkesh Bakshi in a television series of the same name based on the character created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay and directed by Basu Chatterjee.
Dolly Thakore
Dolly Thakore is a veteran Indian theatre actress and casting director. Most of her career has been spent on the stage but she appeared in the 2005 film Page 3. Thakore was the casting director for the Academy Award winning film Gandhi in 1982 where she was also responsible for recruiting the Indian actors in the film and for some of the PR work on the film.
Mahesh Dattani
Mahesh Dattani is an acclaimed Indian director, actor and writer. He wrote plays like Final Solutions, Dance Like a Man, Bravely Fought the Queen, On a Muggy Night in Mumbai, Tara and 30 days in September. He has directed films ‘Mango Souffle’ and ‘Morning Raga’. He is the first playwright in English to be awarded the Sahitya Akademi award.
Meenakshi Shedde
Meenakshi Shedde, filmmaker and journalist is also a freelance critic and consultant on Indian cinema to the Cannes, Berlin and Venice film festivals. She was on the national jury for the Indian Panorama/IFFI 2004.
