Riz (Geetanjali Thapa), a recent immigrant and ex-gang member, works at a motel in hopes of starting her life over in America. At the motel, Riz meets Una (Cynthia Nixon), the formidable owner, and her drug-selling son Jimmy. Rooming with another motel maid Dallas (Olivia DeJonge), a bold, assertive runaway, who blackmails Riz, triggering a series of violent events that entwine Riz, Dallas, and Jimmy. In a last-ditch effort, a desperate Riz and Dallas create a plan to rob Una to escape from the motel and the web of crime they've created.

SONEJUHI SINHA started her film career as an editor, working on acclaimed feature films, documentaries and commercials. Her passion for directing soon burgeoned and her first narrative short, Love Comes Later, premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. Sonejuhi then completed Cannes’ development program Next Step in Paris with her feature script Stray Dolls which marks her feature debut. She is the recipient of the Jerome Foundation development grant and Tribeca's IWC award for her feature Stray Dolls.
