KASHISH GLOBAL: THE 2015 JOURNEY

Over the past 6 years KASHISH has facilitated screening at numerous international film festivals of Indian LGBTQ films, which were either award winners or critically acclaimed at its own festival.

KASHISH has collaborated with more than 35 International film festivals in UK, USA, Australia, Czech Republic, Indonesia, China, South Korea, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Romania, etc.

Breaking Free

QFest (Jakarta, Indonesia)

A Love Such As This (Ek Maaya Ashi Hi) by Vaibhav Hatkar and Delusion (Brahm) by Manoj Thorat were screened in the program ‘House of Love’.
A Full Stop That Searches For Its End (Mudivai Thaedum Muttripulli) by Vivek Vishwanathan , Mr.Gay India by Ashish Sawhny and Guy Next Door by Pradipta Ray.
Were screened in the program ‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang’.
Breaking Free by Sridhar Rangayan was screened in the program ‘Human Love Human’.


October 2015

Sundar

Iris Prize (Cardiff, Wales, UK)
Being a partner festival of Iris Prize, each year KASHISH nominates one of its award winning Indian LGBTQ films to Iris Prize, which is the world’s highest cash award for lGBTQ films.

This year Sundar by Rohan Kanawade, which was co-winner of Indian Narrative Short award at KASHISH 2015 was nominated. http://www.irisprize.org/film/sundar/


Mr. Gay India

Prague Indian Film Festival (Prague, Czech Republic)

Five films Sundar by Rohan Kanawade, A Full Stop That Searches For Its End (Mudivai Thaedum Muttripulli) by Vivek Vishwanathan, Forbidden Love and Mr.Gay India by Ashish Sawhny, and Breaking Free by Sridhar Rangayan were screened at the festival in Prague
Breaking Free was also screened in two more cities in Czech Republic – Brno and Pilsen

Shot by Ganesh Matkari was selected to screen in the competition section

Manhattan Shorts (Mumbai, India)
Shot by Ganesh Matkari was nominated for the Manhattan Short India film festival. It was shortlisted as 10 top nominees by audience votes. It receives a Special Mention by the jury.


November 2015

Forbidden Love

International Queer & Minorities Film Festival (Amsterdam, The Netherlands)
Four films have been selected to screen at the festival: Sundar by Rohan Kanawade, A Love Such As This (Ek Maaya Ashi Hi) by Vaibhav Hatkar, Forbidden Love and Mr.Gay India by Ashish Sawhny.

Queer Film Festival (Oldenberg, Germany)
Shot by Ganesh Matkari will screen at this festival.


Guy Next Door

Perv International Short Film Competition (Marrickville, Australia)
Guy Next Door by Pradipta Ray was selected to play in the International Shorts Competition on the Opening Night of the festival.

& Proud Yangon LGBT Film Festival (Yangon, Myanmar)
The second edition of & Proud Yangon LGBT Film Festival included four films from KASHISH festival – Sundar by Rohan Kanawade, Shot by Ganesh Matkari, Forbidden Love and Mr.Gay India by Ashish Sawhny
